Conways Solicitors Act in Purchase of Arklow Willow

Conways Solicitors recently acted for the Purchasers of the the MFV Arklow Willow. 

Conways acted on behalf of the purchasers, McKeil Marine in the multi million Euro purchase of the general cargo vessel.

Built in 2004 and with a capacity of about 10,000 tonnes of cargo, the Arklow Willow is now based in Canada. the new owners are one of the largest maritime service providers in Canada. McKeil Marine is a marine services company with a fleet of ocean-going and harbour tugs, barges for shipping and storage, temporary docks, oil rig servicing vessels, dry docks and repair facilities.

McKeil Marine supports marine construction, mining, oil and gas, bridge work, major infrastructure, offshore and Arctic development. Their fleet consists of flat deck, sectional and jack up barges, support tugs, work boats and cranes.

The vessels overall length is 136.43 meters and 21.2 meters breath. She has 8935 Gross tonnes and a dead-weight of 14,001 tonnes.

The first job for the now Canadian based vessel, will be to  load cement in the Great Lakes to deliver to Newfoundland and Labrador, and then load a quartz-like product there to transport to the Great Lakes.
